Who am I?
I’m an enthusiastic foodie + baker who finds joy in the kitchen. I love when a friend or family member widens their eyes, nods their head and utters “Mmmmm…” When they enjoyed what I just created with my own hands, THAT brings me joy.
Where I’m coming from.
I love a well put together kitchen (confession: I’m also an organizer), after all it’s the most used room in the home so you should be able to find stuff! I love to cook and bake but I also enjoy eating out, traveling and enjoying meals prepared by family and friends.
The best culinary experience is one that makes one’s mouth tingle and eyes twinkle. Even better is a simple recipe, local (or organic) ingredients and something that just flat out tastes good. I like straight-forward food made with quality ingredients. That is my Joy of the Kitchen.

It’s all about what happens in the kitchen, what comes out of it and how to make it. You can expect recipes, learning a new (or old) skill, stories about dining out, travel and an occasional ramble or soapbox. I like most things related to the kitchen: baking, cooking, ingredients, recipes, books, experiences, tools and tips, so that’s what you’ll find here (and more!).
I also feel it’s useful to be helpful, which is what a blog should be (and what I’ve been doing for over two years, see below). This blog is a way to do just that, help. I’m curious, and I bet you are too. There’s too much about the kitchen, cooking, baking, food, wine and everything in between to learn about in one lifetime. Life is a grand adventure, so ya might as well eat well! Wanna come along?
